This project seeks to enhance coding and robotics education by providing students with a classroom set of Sphero coding robots, mats, and STEAM kits. The initiative is designed to equip students, particularly gifted learners in elementary and middle grades, with hands-on experiences in coding, robotics, and problem-solving, preparing them for future careers in technology. By incorporating engaging, interactive learning tools, this program will ignite students’ interest in STEM fields and encourage collaboration as they work together to solve real-world problems using technology. The program will also serve as a shared resource for fellow teachers, expanding access to coding and robotics across multiple classrooms. This grant is particularly impactful within the school system, where many students come from low-socioeconomic backgrounds and lack access to advanced technology resources.
