I am a passionate 6th grade Social Studies teacher who believes learning about the world inspires students to make a difference in it. My classroom is a place where geography, history, culture, and current events come to life through engaging and interactive lessons. I strive to help students become critical thinkers, informed global citizens, and lifelong learners. Building meaningful relationships and creating a positive classroom community are at the heart of everything I do. I believe every student has the potential to succeed when challenged, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to spark curiosity, inspire confidence, and prepare my students to thrive in an ever-changing world.

My biggest piece of advice is to remember your why. Teaching isn’t just about delivering content—it’s about building relationships, believing in kids before they believe in themselves, and helping them see what’s possible. There will be tough days, but don’t let those moments make you lose sight of the impact you’re making. Every lesson, conversation, and encouragement matters, even when you don’t see the results right away. If you show up every day with passion, consistency, and a heart for kids, you’ll change lives—and that’s what makes this profession so rewarding.
One piece of advice I’d give to new teachers is simple: be yourself. Don’t spend your time trying to teach like someone else or comparing your classroom to everyone else’s. Your personality, your passion, and your unique way of connecting with students are what make you effective. Students can tell when you’re genuine, and that’s what helps build trust and meaningful relationships. The best teachers aren’t the ones who copy others—they’re the ones who confidently bring their authentic selves into the classroom every single day.
I stay in education because I truly believe I’m doing what I was called to do. Every day, I have the chance to make a difference—not just by teaching social studies, but by helping students believe in themselves and realize they can accomplish great things. Seeing that moment when something finally clicks or watching a student grow in confidence reminds me why I chose this profession. The work isn’t always easy, but knowing I’ve had a positive impact on a student’s life makes it all worth it. That’s why I continue to show up every day with purpose and passion.
I chose to teach in this school system because it reflects the world my students are learning about in my classroom. Being so close to Robins Air Force Base, we have students from all over the country and around the world, and I think that’s something really special. As a 6th grade social studies teacher, I love helping students learn from one another’s cultures, experiences, and perspectives. Warner Robins is an international city, and that diversity makes every day in the classroom meaningful. I enjoy being part of a community where I can prepare students to think globally while making a difference right here at home.
