Ashley believes every child deserves a teacher who believes in them. She is passionate about creating a welcoming classroom where students feel valued, challenged, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone considering teaching?

If serving others brings you joy, you’ll find purpose in teaching. There is nothing quite like watching a student discover confidence in themselves because you believed in them first.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to new teachers?

Give yourself grace. You don’t have to have all the answers on day one. Build relationships first, ask questions often, and remember that the best teachers never stop learning.

Why do you choose to stay in education?

Because students need people who believe in them. Watching a child gain confidence, overcome challenges, or realize they’re capable of more than they imagined is what keeps me coming back year after year.

Why did you choose to teach in an (urban, rural, small, large, etc.) school system?

I grew up in a rural community, so this is home to me. I love the close relationships, the sense of family, and the opportunity to really know my students and their families. In a rural school, you’re not just teaching a class; you’re investing in your community.

Is there any other information you would like to share?

Georgia is an incredible place to build a career in education. I’ve been fortunate to experience firsthand how our state celebrates educators, encourages innovation, and provides opportunities for teachers to grow beyond their own classrooms while continuing to put students first.
